Ford dropped the 1.0L EcoBoost engine from the 2022 Ford EcoSport. It only comes with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with 166 horsepower and 149 pound-feet of torque. The output is more than enough for city driving.
The six-speed automatic transmission feels much better than the dual-clutch in the old EcoSport. Sans any shift shock, it provides much smoother acceleration that makes it slightly quicker from a standstill compared to the previous gearbox.
Its compact size makes it a joy to maneuver because you can squeeze in and out of so many tight situations in traffic you’ll end up forgetting how to do 3-point turns.
NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) levels are decent considering the large alloy wheels, and the suspension feels more robust and resistant to the punishing road surfaces.
